Arsenal vs Chelsea: London Rivals Meet in Huge Emirates Clash
Arsenal and Chelsea meet at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, September 6, in one of the biggest matches of the early Premier League season.
Both sides have won their opening two league matches, meaning Sunday's London derby will see two unbeaten teams fighting to maintain their perfect starts.
Kick-off is scheduled for 4:30pm BST at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal Looking to Continue Perfect Start
Arsenal have made an impressive start to their title defence.
The Gunners defeated Coventry City 3–0 before recording a narrow 1–0 victory over Aston Villa, keeping clean sheets in both Premier League matches.
Mikel Arteta's side have also looked particularly strong defensively, making Chelsea's attacking threat one of their biggest tests of the season so far.
Bukayo Saka has already scored twice this season and will be one of the main players Chelsea need to contain.
Chelsea Bring Plenty of Attacking Threat
Chelsea have also won their opening two Premier League matches under Xabi Alonso.
The Blues defeated Fulham and Brighton, scoring seven goals across their first two league games. However, they have also conceded five times, highlighting the difference between their attacking strength and defensive vulnerability.
Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and João Pedro will be among the biggest attacking threats for Chelsea.
João Pedro has started the season particularly well, while Palmer remains one of the most important creative players in Alonso's system.
Arsenal Team News
Arsenal have a few fitness concerns ahead of the derby.
William Saliba remains unavailable with a back problem, while Jurrien Timber is close to returning after a groin injury.
Cristhian Mosquera and Declan Rice also picked up concerns during the victory over Aston Villa, although Rice is expected to be available.
Bruno Guimarães is another player whose fitness has been monitored ahead of the match.
Chelsea Team News
Chelsea also have some midfield concerns.
Moises Caicedo is a doubt after picking up a knock, while Jordan Henderson and Marco Palestra are unavailable for the trip to the Emirates.
Alonso will therefore have to decide how best to balance Chelsea's attacking ambition with the need to avoid giving Arsenal too much space.
